Does your business need a legal “Health Check” ?
At Band Hatton, we pride ourselves on the professionalism of the advice we give, but also on our accessibility and approachability. For some time now, we have offered to both new and existing clients a free initial consultation of up to half an hour without obligation on any legal issues which are of concern, to enable you to establish whether we might be able to assist you, and if so, what will be the likely cost and timescale. This service will continue as previously.In addition, however, we have identified three key areas where our experience suggests that businesses need to have early access to legal advice, namely:-
1. Up-to-date effective terms and conditions of trading, which reflect both current legal practice, and also your particular
trading circumstances.
2. Contracts of employment and allied practical and effective policies such as (not exhaustively) disciplinary, grievance,
equal opportunities, anti-harassment and bullying, anti-corruption and bribery, sickness absence, capability procedure,
maternity, paternity and adoption,
data protectionand I.T. These policies can be consolidated in a staff handbook.
3. Protection of your intellectual property, e.g. your business name and logo, your products and your ideas.
We understand that in a busy commercial environment, businesses often don’t have the time to consider the above issues however experience has taught us, as legal advisors for businesses, that putting the right documentation in place can save a great deal of time and energy in the future and also may make your business run more efficiently and productively.
The law is constantly changing and so businesses need to ensure that their terms and conditions of trading, contracts of employment and allied policies and documentation surrounding intellectual property rights are up to date with the current law to ensure that they have the best platform from which to trade successfully.
In the event you then instruct us to carry out any work which we recommend as a result of the Legal Health Check, we will offer a 10% reduction on our charges for that work.
